In the fall of 1997 I bought a small house on the Eastern end of Long Island in a little town called Sag Harbor. It wasn't the cutest house I had ever seen, but I knew it had potential...and more importantly, it was something I could afford, my little piece of the pricey area known as "The Hamptons".
Over the years I have undertaken many renovations, facelifts, and projects to put my imprint on this modest place. It was (and continues to be) a lot of work...but I've had the best time of my life doing it. The rewards have been incalculable in terms of giving me satisfaction for creating a place that's a true respite from my crazy life in Manhattan. I love spending every weekend here, year 'round. Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring...every season is a joy.
This blog will be chronicle of life here at the cottage. Experiences past and present, ideas and inspirations, crafts, recipes, tips, and jottings that have something related to my tiny corner of paradise. I hope you enjoy the journey with me in the months and years to come.
