NYTimes Crossword: "Mixed Results"
It took me a while to get the theme of this puzzle, but when I did it was a real "aha" moment.
The shaded squares were two colors that when 'mixed' answered the them clues. Very clever.

NYTimes Crossword: "111-Across!"
This was a really fun puzzle, the theme was "spoiler alert!" and the answers were the famous plot twist endings to famous movies. I love pop culture themes so this one was right up my alley.

Irish soda bread
I decided to make a loaf of Irish soda bread in honor of St. Patrick's Day today. Ina Garten has a very easy recipe that's really delicious, you can find it here.
The recipe calls for buttermilk, which I don't always have on hand, but I had a carton in the fridge from a casserole recipe I made earlier in the week, so it was a no-brainer decision.
This bread is really great warm right out of the oven with just some sweet butter on top and a cup of tea...DELISH.

NYTimes Crossword: "It's Elementary"
This puzzle really kicked my butt...it took me 3 days, on and off, but I wrestled it to the ground finally. I didn't love the written clues, but boy do I feel good for having finished it.

NYTimes Crossword: "Mixed Feelings?"
Whenever I finish the Times Sunday puzzle I get such a feeling of accomplishment. I know, I know, for a lot of people it's no big deal, but for me it takes a while to wrestle the damn thing to the ground, sometimes taking me til Monday or Tuesday! But I love doing it and when you're done it's like scratching a terrible itch. This week's was kinda knotty but I was DETERMINED to conquer it. And solve it I did, finally! On to next Sunday...
